The dots are going into winter hibernation.

This crazy winter here on the East Coast is putting a few things into hibernation right now and I'm taking this as a hint to take a much needed break. But soon enough it will be spring and there's going to be a ton a of new dot stuff happening! As always I'm billowing with ideas I can't wait to try out.

Make sure to keep up with me here or on Instagram or Facebook or Twitter or Pinterest or wherever you like follow! I'll be going on adventures, exploring my still new home of New York City, setting up an awesome work studio, and figuring out some new things like dotted Alphabet flash cards!

The Bocket Store is now set to vacation on Etsy, but if you have urgent dot needs feel free to email me and I'll see what I can do for you!

Thanks so much everyone, you guys are the best!

Change is a beautiful thing : I moved to New York

Sometimes in life there's comes a time to change. If you feel like life has more to offer you, then go out there and find it. So I moved to New York two weeks ago.

It's exciting (and exhausting) to pack up your whole life and shed all that extra stuff you've accumulated over the years. I  took only what fit in my small car and it feels great.

The dots are going to be on a little bit of a hiatus while I get myself settled in. In the mean time I'm going to enjoy hanging out here, exploring the city, stay busy working freelance jobs, pet/house sitting, and eating delicious food.

My travels took me through beautiful places, check out what I saw on my intense four day journey from the Pacific to the Atlantic!

Day 1 : gas station/oasis in the middle of the Mojave Desert

Day 2 : best place to stay in Gallup, New Mexico
Day 2 : driving into the storm - Grants, New Mexico
Day 2 : Sandstone Bluffs - El Malpais National Monument - Grants, New Mexico

Day 2 : Natural Arch - El Malpais National Monument - Grants, New Mexico
Day 2 : Ancient Lava Flows - El Malpais National Monument - Grants, New Mexico

Day 2 : Cracks in the lava - El Malpais National Monument - Grants, New Mexico
Day 2 : Continental Divide - New Mexico
Day 3 : Oklahoma/Texas state line

Day 3 : When I got far enough east, I stopped at the first Waffle House I could find - Oklahoma City
Day 4 : After a lot of not fun stops and tons of driving, here I am somewhere in Pennsylvania.
Day 4: Made it to the Atlantic Ocean - Cape May, New Jersey (picture from the morning after)

Day 4: Not a shabby new hometown for my parents - Cape May, New Jersey (picture from the morning after)

Brooklyn Renegade is happening in a week : June 22+23 !!

Well I'm excited to be bringing the dots back to NYC! I'm busy finishing up the last of the bowls and I'll be heading to the east coast early next week. This year I'm also sharing my booth with my wonderful friend Misha Ashton Photography. The dots and photos are back together again!! This makes me even more excited!

So if you're in NYC and want to get yourself some dots and also have a great weekend, come on by!

June 22+23
East River State Park (Willaimsburg Waterfront)
As always it's free to attend!

My Etsy store is back open my friends.

I am officially back from vacation on Etsy! I started to fill up my shop today and I have a ton more to post. Plus soon my new drinking glasses will be available too! I just got a whole case full of them and I'm excited to put lots of gold dots on them.

I'm also going with a cleaner more wood based look this year and I'm very excited. It means more fun staining for me! Yay!

New retail store for the dots: Asrai Garden in Chicago

I am pleased to introduce you to the newest store selling the dots! Asrai garden is a beautiful flower and boutique shop in the Wicker Park/Bucktown area of Chicago. I stopped in there last September when I was in town for the Renegade Craft Fair and I'm so glad that this has finally come together! I'm sending their first shipment out today and only the first of many.

I'm pretty picky when it comes to retail stores. It's hard for me to take on many orders just because of how much time it takes me to paint. But finding stores that are styled so well and with great people working there, make me so happy and willing to get them all the dots they want. This is months in the making and totally worth it.

Yes I think the bowls will fit in quite nicely.

New dot glass products coming out this spring!

Now you know I love the wooden bowls with all my heart but how about a fully functional and usable dotted product? I am pleased to be welcoming hand-painted drinking glasses this spring! Right now I'm working out my specific patterns and styles. Think mid century. Think gold. Think brass. Think splashes of bright color and frosted white. And on top of all that, they will be completely food safe, detergent safe, and even dishwasher safe. I guess the only thing they won't be able to fight is gravity, but we all deal with that pretty ok on a day to day basis.

The dots have been spotted on DesignLoveFest today.

I made a whole bunch of little notebooks (the most in one sitting I've ever done: 30+) for DesignLoveFest's Blogshop a couple months ago. They've done a great blog post today about the event and you can see (a bit out of focus) my favorite little notebooks up there. Thanks guys!

Full post HERE. Looks like they had loads of fun.

Help support my friend self publishing her second Lomography book!

It's really exciting that my very good and talented friend Misha of Misha Ashton Photography is self publishing her second Adventures in Lomography book! If you don't know about her, do yourself a favor and look through her countless beautiful (all analogue) photographs and help support this big undertaking of hers. I created the Kickstarter video for her so check it out everyone and let's make the second book in her series happen! This time around she's focusing on her childhood hometown of New Orleans so it has a special place in her heart and she wants to show the world what the city looks like through her lens.

Support HERE!

Misha and I meet up and travel together all over the country to do shows and fairs. You could say my dots and her photos are very good friends as well! I was happy to join her on a week long trip to New Orleans last year and had such a wonderful time. I'm super excited to see this competed!!!

Train Trip back west across the country.

I came back to the West Coast 2 weeks ago after being gone for almost 4 months. I had a great time on the East Coast and a wonderful experience taking the train there back in September. It was time to take it once again across the country. For me it was about the slow easy going pace and the forced relaxation the train rides gives you. Plus I had a lot of stuff with me which would of made plane travel extremely un-fun and stressful. Oh and I also like to make traveling an adventure. Haha yes there's always that.

I went from Connecticut to Chicago to Portland and back down to LA. I stopped twice to see family and friends but the real reason was just to ride the rails. And what a great time it was!

My Etsy Store is going on vacation.

It is time for the dots and I to take a much needed break. I've got big plans for the dots, so I need the time to make all the new wonderful new products that I've been dreaming about. I'll be on vacation starting Sunday night and won't be back until May. Grab some dots while you can!! ------> Etsy Store

These are all that are left my friends. But if you happen to live in Portland OR, Kansas City MO, or Chicago IL, you will be able to get your dots fresh off the shelves. (Chicago store still pending at this point in time.)

It's time for the Renegade Craft Fairs in California!

Renegade Holiday Craft Fair time has begun and I'm just taking up the last leg of the shows in California. I'm only doing these two shows, so if you live near there, come and get your dots in person!

First up this weekend Dec 8 + 9 the dots and I will be in Los Angeles.
LA Historic Park
10a - 5p

Second show for the dots is on Dec 15 + 16 in San Francisco.
Concourse Exhibition Center

Check out the website for all the artists that will be there and info about the workshops, gift wrap stations, and all sort of fun stuff going on: Renegade Craft

I've been in NYC until now and I'm ready for some warm weather again! See ya there!!

Tote bags with dots on them at society6 and even throw pillows....

They've been up for a little bit, just been so busy to post them. Society6 seems to be rolling out new products all the time. It's so fun to see the dots on different stuff. Well now you can get simple canvas tote bags with circles filled with dots. I think they look pretty cool and need to get one or some.... for myself!

Check them all out HERE!

The also started throw pillows! The dots look pretty neat on them too! Although I have to admit that the dots enter my dreams enough and I don't think I need to fall asleep on them.... but they are definitely cute all soft and fluffy!

Check them all out HERE!

Busy as a bee!

I know I've been kinda quiet here on the internet lately. I'm spending the fall in NYC working a non-dot freelance job and the weather has been TOUGH. It's messed with all my shipping and even walking down the street sometimes. Everything for me has finally come back to normalcy now it seems. (Post offices are still closed though!!) But thanks to the most wonderful feature on Etsy on Halloween day, all my extra time is filled with painting. I'm so happy the dots are loved by so many of you out there. You're the ones that keep me going late at night, dot by dot.

Keep checking back to Etsy, Facebook, Twitter, or wherever you get your dot updates. I'm woking on lots of bowls right now and acquiring many more right now too!!

If you missed the feature check it out HERE!

See some of my day to day adventures here in NYC on Instagram. They just started having official account pages. It's fun to see all my pictures in one place!

Thanks for the blog post Etsy!!!!

The dots and I are just so happy that the silent movie I made about how I paint my dots was posted up on the Etsy Blog last Friday and then they also featured me on their Etsy Finds daily email two days ago. YAY!! Although it's kind of weird to think about how my black and white face was sent and seen all over the world....

If it weren't for my friends and a dot fan on my facebook page I wouldn't of known about the postings. Thanks everyone!!! And thank you Etsy for saying such nice things about me and for even finding my little dot store and letting the Etsy community know about me!

Check out the post on Etsy.
